A celebration of those with joint replacement or orthopedic implants, the Metal Walk aims to raise awareness of the importance of returning to an active lifestyle for those impacted by arthritis and joint pain. This event raises funds for the Forté Orthopedic Research Institute to help further its mission to support advances in orthopedic care through research and education to improve patients’ quality of life.

“For some time, we have been trying to bring awareness to joint replacement and arthritis,” said Forté Sports Medicine and Orthopedics’ John Hur, MD. “As we are now celebrating our ninth walk, we realize that we couldn’t do this alone without the support from the community and our partners.”

The Metal Walk 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run is designed for those with joint replacement or other orthopedic implants but is also open to friends, family members, runners, and walkers of all skill levels.
